MultiNational Underwriters, A Subsidiary of HCC Insurance Holdings, Inc. is expanding its Underwriting Department. Primary responsibilities for the UW Assistant include processing acceptable renewals; approving eligible applications and sendind correspondence until resolution is found for all ineligible or problem applications. The UW Assistant prepares and sends out duplicate fulfillment packets in response to customer, producer, and customer service requests. They also maintain working knowledge of all benefits and limits to assist with customers via telephone and written inquiries. Other duties may be assigned as necessary, including back-up for other underwriting department positions during absences and/or heavy volumes.

Requirements

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel or ability to learn.
• Knowledge of health insurance industry a plus
• Attention to detail
• Positive, upbeat personality
• Must have adequate mathematical skills to ensure accurate calculations of dates of birth, length of coverage, and premiums and refunds due.
• Must possess adequate verbal ability to communicate clearly, in person and by telephone.
• Must possess adequate visual ability and manual dexterity to operate various office equipment, such as personal computer, fax, copier, etc.
